Doesn't get better than this: Smith, Tate,
Burrell and Stanley Turrentine smoke McShann's
"Jumpin' Blues." Recorded LIVE in 1985. Burrell
KILLS this. Great unison work by Burrell and
Turrentine. And Turrentine...absolutely monstrous.
Tate - what can I say? Best organ trio drummer
EVER. Smith, of course, is a force of nature.
I got a chuckle out of a dude in the comments,
asking if anyone knew who the bass player was.

I've been hip to Blythe (note proper spelling) for many
years. You can hear the influence of Sonny Rollins in
his playing. Here's a Rollins tune I've always liked (and
have covered in the past) - more R&B than it is Jazz,
but ain't nothin' wrong with that:
