Bob, $850 is out of line for these. I bought 2 J6's for $400 or less. I
think they go for $500-600 used these days. I don't believe this model has
a solid spruce top. The J6 has a laminated top (could be laminated spruce).
The J6S does have a solid spruce top (confirmed w/ Washburn).

I owned a J6 and a J6S at the same time and could hear no tonal difference.
I enjoyed both guitar very much.

Thanks for the head up.

I have a J10, and I think it might be a solid top - there's some story around
that some of them are lams and some are solid, and I don't know if it's
credible or not. The top on mine is extremely thin, but the damn thing sounds
really good for a cheap guitar.

Is the J10 the Orleans? Do you know how those specs differ f/ the J-6
(basically L5 specs)

I emailed Washburn a few years ago re: the J6. I thought the 'S' stood for
Sunburst until I saw some Natural J6S's. Their reply was that the S stood
for Solid.

Guy who goes to my luthier is selling one with a JS floater pup on it (I
think he replaced the original); sez' it's got the Feiten tuning deal on it.
I didn't know these came with an unrouted top.

. . . must resist . . . must not succumb . . . will resist.

$850 seems pretty high for a used J6. Music 123's got 'em new for $799 with
free shipping and a free hardshell case.
