Post by GerryPost by charlieguitarDoes anyone know from what source you can get reliable jazz charts
these days? I’m hoping something has come along over the years to
replace the inadequate traditional sources.TIA. Charlie
You mean lead sheets, or arrangements?
If you mean lead sheets there's nothing inadequate about all the 8 or
9 Sher Publications "New Real Book" volumes, of which there are
somewhere around ten.
With the caveat that those may be tied to specific performances rather
than being the original changes. But more accurate than the Real Book
5th Ed in any case! The Hal Leonard Real Books seem to be better than
the old Berklee ones.
Also, Ralph Patt's "Vanilla Book" is still online courtesy of his
family for changes (no melodies).
